...so I can get mine before August 26th!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I was finally able to get to my dealer and order myself a new 2520. He had called me back in April to tell me about the upgraded rebate to $2500, but the timing wasn't right. Then he called a few weeks ago to let me know that the wait time had been increased from a couple of weeks back in March to the beginning of July. Arrrrgh...still, not a good time.

But, yesterday came and, assuming I wasn't going to get swept up by the rapture, it was time to go get mine. The sales guy was as pleasant and easy to work with as he was back in March when no one was in the store. We went back over the numbers, and I had finalized the attachments I wanted. Everything was cool, so I signed the papers and he said, "Well, the other sales guy placed an order for a 2520 on Wednesday and the expected delivery date came back as August 3rd! YIKES!!!! So he put in "fake" order to see what the date would be now - and AUGUST 26th came back - 3 additional weeks in only 3 days. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

So, good news - I'm finally getting my tractor (with FEL, 62" MMM, Woods rake w/ flip down grader blade & ends, quick hitch, etc). There's a long wait ahead of me for delivery, but I figure I can be setting aside payments (0% 48 months - no money down) so when it does arrive I'll be ready!

I couldn't leave empty handed tho, so I worked a Husqvarna 323LS weed destroyer into the deal and, while I can't mow the entire acreage with it, it'll fill the "new toy" void for a while!

Typical Deere. They think they are so great that people will wait. That's pretty ridiculous on their part. I think the debacle w/ the new 1000 series has increased the demand for the 2000's. Deere makes a good product but the company itself is a mess. I used to be a dealer.

I have had mine for a couple of weeks now, it's dirty and muddy but man has it saved me a ton of work!!! You will be very happy with your choice!! While the dealer had mine on the lot (and the only one) I found myself waiting 3 weeks for the FEL. So maybe all of your attachments will be there at the same time!!! Congrats on the new tractor!!!!

Ordered my 2520 4 weeks and 1 day ago (who's counting).
People must be getting in line to buy the 2520 before the end of this month when the promotion is scheduled to expire.

It will be very interesting to see if it is extended considering the 1000 series has not shown itself yet.

I know the feeling and it ain't just John Deere either. It's been a few years, but on July 17, 1999, I saw a Kubota B2710 on the dealer's lot. Two days later, July 19, the salesman and I reached a firm agreement, but like you, I had to wait for them to get a FEL for it. On August 11, the saleman called to say they got the loader yesterday, will install it today, and deliver it tomorrow, and he did. So I reckon that was 24 days waiting for my new tractor.

Sales guy said that Deere had actually "run out" of them and are now building them to catch up to orders. He also said he cannot order them for stock, just for specific customer orders. Back when I first talked to him in March he had said if I waited til April it might be more than 3 weeks out before I could take delivery. Something bizarre must have happened between now and then for the demand to have ballooned like this and Deere not having anticipated it.

Thanks - I am pretty excited...ok, very excited :) He did say the rake would definately be here before the tractor! And they had a bunch of FELs out back too. I was just out wandering one of the pastures where the grass is not about 8 inches high with all the recent rain and wondering how I'm going to get it back down with the 40" Craftsman tractor.

There is one possible out - if my sales guy can locate a dealer that wants to swap one of their 2520's for something he's got. Told me he'd give it a couple of hours of calling on Monday. If it doesn't pan out, well, I have something to look forward to come end of summer!

How true..My father was a dealer also years ago..Deere was very dealer friendly then they started to demand inventories, building and advertising..It go kinda ugly. He knew what sold in his area, they did not.. They sucked him in till he got rid of Allis, Gravely,Bolens,Satoh, Wheel Horse-Reco, then pulled the rug out from under him.

Osaka is where Yanmar builds the 2520, and it is much further south in Japan from the area that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami. Although, supply chains may extend to those areas that are still further north, Osaka itself seems to be good shape.

Odd, my local dealer still has a few of them on the lot, he had 12, 2 weeks ago.

I take it dealers can't get them from dealers?

The impression I am getting is normally a dealer might let a tractor go to another dealer, but in the case of the few 2305s that might be left or the 2520s that are really selling they are reluctant to let them go knowing they won't be getting any for their own customer sales.

I am in the same boat. Was last told early / mid July.

Dealer said that no other dealers will do dealer to dealer transfers ... they are sitting on their own inventory...

I am glad I purchased mine last October. I had no idea that it would be such a hot seller. But then again it is a very good package that includes position control unlike some of the competition.

One point my fiance made this morning: perhaps once May 31st passes and the $2500 rebate ends, dealers might be more inclined to part with 2520s since the majority of buyer would have placed their orders by then. Interesting thought...

For those that want to capitalize on the $2500 and my local dealer is offering 0% for 60 might want to consider traveling. Also, I do haul equipment on the side, so if transportation is an issue, I might be able to help you out there. PM me if you are interested in the dealers name.
