:mad:Just got off the phone with PJ Trailers concerning a 22' deck-over hydraulic trailer that I bought last year. I spent over 6 months trying to get my hydraulics working correctly. PJ did nothing other than have me get in touch with the manufacturer of the system. By the time they got a fix to their system to their China factory it was over 6 months. Now less then a year the center board on the trailer has warped up at the back of the trailer because when it was made the one center board was not put under the rear deck plate far enough. PJ Trailer response "sorry, but we don't cover boards". Anybody else have problems with PJ Trailers? I usually buy a new trailer every other year, but this is the last from PJ.

A friend of mine bought a PJ 27' w/5' dovetail, deck over, tandem wheel gooseneck trailer a year ago. It's now for sale. Tired of dealing with stupid little issues.

Search the site you'll find lots of satisfied PJ owners. I can't see any manufactures covering warped boards but they should have been better with the hydralic issue you had. Can you elaborate about the issue?

Always wanted a hydraulic dovetail trailer but could not imagine 6 months of problems on hydraulic problems. What went wrong?

On the boards about 20 will get you a new board.

It's not just the price of the board, but the shoddy work. Plus I have to take my winch off to replace the board, about 3-4 hours when it shouldn't have been a problem. The hydraulic problem was the remote sending unit. If all remotes had problems I could see the delay, but my Warn winch remote worked fine from day one.

I visited with my friend over the weekend. The problem with his trailer is the axles. They are Chinese manufactured. He has to go back to PJ to order parts. He estimates he has pulled this trailer 7K miles. All four wheel hubs have failed twice. The hubs are so poorly machined that when they were assembled they used a punch to dimple them so the bearing races would stay put and not spin. He said the electro magnets are also weak. Brakes worked pretty good when new but consistantly got worse and now barely work. Yes, he's got good voltage going to them and his Big Tex trailer has awesome brakes when he pulls it with the same truck. He checked into buying Dexter axles to put under the PJ trailer and decided it wasn't cost effective. So it's for sale. But hey, it's got all new bearings and seals,,,,, for now at least..... :(

Actually, for YEARS I had more warranty issues with Dexter axles than any other. We used to run Quality axles and now we are fortunate to have a good relationship with Axis, which makes the best axle on Earth, in my opinion and it is all Dexter interchangeable for when you do have a problem on the road. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Unless PJ has changed, I thought they used either Dexter or Alco axles
