New Holland TC55DA EHSS
Good afternoon. I have a TC55DA EHSS that has a worn pivot bushing boss on the front axle housing. Has anyone had any luck welding these and machining the weld back down?
Couple of questions… Is the axle housing cast iron or cast steel? I need to know some specs on the stub boss ie what is the proper OD?
I’m confident I can get this sorted out but will accept any advice.
Thanks

If the issue is wear, and not broken castings, it might be better to re-machine what is there and then turn up flange bushing that "fixes" the problem.

There are no issues with HAZ or filler rod compatibility that way.

And only a machinist is needed, not both a welder and machinist! ;-)

Welding it up shouldn’t be a problem other than preheat and cool down rates. Problem with machining what is there is the boss is hollow on the inside and to remove enough material to get back “round” I fear it may be too thin to support the load.
