Pioneer 1073

saw has been down for couple of decades and now working on it. Tried to get to the point to see if ign. coil is still working.

Had to remove rope assembly to clean contacts where ign coil makes contact w/ magnets on flywheel. Long story short, couldn't determine how the

plastic cog between rope spring and outer cover went back in.

The plastic cog has a piece of metal, like a paper clip but I couldn't remember how it goes back in...anyone familiar with this and how it's oriented to rope

and spring ? You can pull the rope and it will retract back in the housing but w/o the plastic cog which has the mail clip in it, starter pull

rope will not rewind. Anyone know has the assembly goes back in correctly? Thanks

Also, does anyone know where I can find the ign. coil for a Pioneer NU-17

Yes, thanks Alan for taking the time to post all of that, I did find a parts diagram for the 1073 today while searching through some

of my Grandads magazines he collected over the years. The material you posted will be a tremendous help!
