I've had my BX for 8 1/2 years now. The first couple years, I just used my bucket to clear snow, replacing 5hp walk behind. Then I got a 5 foot blade for the back end. I stretched it to 6 feet with horse mat as well as protecting the pavement with the mat. I used that for several years. But my yard would be covered by snow piles after a bigger storm.

Last year, I had a pile 6-7 feet deep, 10 feet thick that went all the way around my house, down the driveway, and over the property line, almost 300 feet. The other side of the driveway wasn't quite as long, but was similar. I carried snow down the road because I couldn't dump it any further back. I bought a soft cab last year, and just having a wind break was a HUGE improvement. I need to take it off for mowing, so this works well for me. But the cab limited a lot of my options for a snow blower. I don't have aux hydraulics (yes, could be added for a small fee) and a crank was totally out. I needed the deflector to be adjustable because I'm frequently near houses. I found the Bercomac Pro 1000 blower at 56 inches wide. The default configuration is electric chute and deflector with a joystick all included. I was terribly frustrated because I couldn't find any reviews on it anywhere; looked for hours. The only thing I found was a youtube video and I watched that about 100 times looking for evidence that it was either good or bad. I finally pulled the trigger in September and got it. It comes from a small town in northern Quebec and had to be special ordered. I absolutely love it.
We got somewhere between 9 and 11 inches last night. This was my 4th time out with it and easily the most satisfying. I even got my wife out to try it (at reduced throttle) just so that she might have an idea how to use it should I be gone for some reason.
I couldn't be happier. I did 6 driveways this morning in less time than it used to take me to do 4 with the blade.
