Yep. I recall my Grand father, (born in the 1880's)who was raised on a farm in Kansas, showing me his hand, which was scarred, and permanently partially closed, and telling me he got it caught in a corn sheller. He said the doctor laid it flat on a cigar box, and taped it there to heal. he said the reason that the hand would not open completely, is because the box warped!I think the corn crib was used to dry corn on the cob and then it was feed for livestock.
