One is feed and goes all the way to the floor with a Y fitting on the bottom end.
The other is for water and starts at 4" then drops down to 2", turns into the house and runs through two of 2" 'P' traps in line and then out to a 'T'. One side of the 'T' goes up to a clear plastic tubing to act as a level indicator. The other end of the 'T' goes to a ball valve for drain out. On the little plugs of the 'P' traps are 'chicken nipples' 360° Super Flow™ Nipple - FarmTek

There are vents at both ends of the house.

Went and picked up chicks yesterday. No turkeys. Sold out before we could get there.

Bought two Plymouth Barred Rocks and two Ameracaunas. Active little buggers. Put up a heat lamp in the coop and put down 1 half in shavings and 1 half in sawdust we use for horse bedding. They are loving it.

The Barred Rocks will spit out huge eggs for you.
A friend with Ameracaunas said the same thing about those. Ameracauna's eggs are blue and green. Should be a rainbow of fun.

I got a PM from a member asking how the chickens were doing and requesting a picture of the coop. The chickens did well over our excessively snowy and cold winter. I put in a water heater to keep the water from freezing and it worked great. They stopped laying around Christmas and mid way through the season I put in a light for them and they started laying again. I ended up purchasing a coop for the simple fact I loved the design. It is made by a fairly local Mennonite who does a phenomenal job.

Glad to hear they're still thriving... and the coop really does look great!
I'm in the planning stages now; chicks ordered on the weekend will be here in 2 weeks.

Cheers,
AMD
