Picked up my tractor yesterday

It was no fun to tow a trailer that has a surge brake. Electric brake would have been much better. The tractor had indeed signs of rental unit. Radiator was filled with clear water. Almost no antifreeze! Fortunately, the water was not rusty. Transmission fluid was below low mark. The dirt trap of the cyclone air filter housing was full. I bet they never squeezed the dirt trap.

I have a question. The rubber boot of the left front ball joint was damaged. It does not have a nipple at the top. Top is flat just like a sealed ball joint. But it has a grease nipple on the side and has a rubber boot. Should I replace the ball joint? Please advise.

The filter screen in front of the radiator could not be removed because of the loader. It kind of pulls out half way only on one side. Any suggestion?

That shouldn't be too much of a problem living in Central Florida.

The screen on mine (Mahindra/TYM) will not pull out all the way without removing the loader. I've found that a long nozzle blow gun keeps it fairly clean without needing frequent removal.

I think if I understand you correctly that you will not have that problem with the TYM tractors now being distributed by TYM-America because they use a pedestal or mid mount loader (same loader was sold with the Century as the C50 and C50HL) that does not have the frames running forward beside the side panels

Mine is a Mahindra 2810HST, an '03 model with a KMW loader. The loader works well but, I have seen others that I thought looked better designed. I don't have the experience of using any others, however. I do still love the tractor as a whole. I'd love to see a TYM dealership in NH. Actually, I'd really like to see a Mahindra dealer re-appear in NH.

i hope i was of some help 2 u.
1 thing on your statement about it being a rental unit.
when we sell our used equipment most contracts know it is well taken care of. it sells pretty easaly because of how it was serviced.

so that rental store does not sound like a typical rental store. they didn't have manuels 2 give u or they didn't sound like they know what preventive maintenance was.

After reading linpat's post, I realized I made a false statement categorically against all rental stores. I should have just said it had the signs of unprofessional maintenance. I apologize. I will edit the original post later.

Thanks Chipperman for the lead. I called the gentleman and he said he would look for a repair/parts manual. Allmand sent me an operator's manual. The previous owner gave me their service manual. Once I get a parts manual, I will be a happy camper.

I also want to let the readers know that the loader was not installed by TYM or TYM-America. I really don't know who picked/installed the loader. Maybe Allmand or their regional sales manager?

The dealer was Northeastern in Epsom, NH. They were just outside of Concord. They are still there, just no longer a Mahindra dealer.

It's Grassmoor Golf Course in Derbyshire,guess you must be a brit??
Set up a new TYM dealership middle of last year in central England to compliment our contracting and rental business.

Currently running about a dozen TYM's, 290's,330's,431's and 700's aswell as a mix of JD's , Kubota's , Kioti's and a couple of Massey's.

I do know Bob,i was with him just before he came to US, next time i'm speaking to him i'll mention your name and that i spoke to you.

I'm hoping Bob can get us some of these New models shipped into the UK , we hoped to see in jan/feb , but i guess their all going to US?? i've got orders that i'm gonna lose if i don't see them soon /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
