Phesants to cattle: A complete barn conversion

I am impressed, I thought doing fourteen 80-lbs bags in a wheelbarrow was more work than I wanted last weekend.

What did you use to mix the concrete?

Ps the barn looks great.

I suppose it's time to update this thread with some new pix...

Finished all but one wall foundation that I don't know what I want to do with it yet and Mucked out the floor down to good material this spring.

The local gas company was replacing the gas main this summer and I got the Pit-run fill excavated from their trenching. Awesome material. Almost straight course sand with some minor rick mixed in.

And finally, it's time to start framing walls again.

Looks like you are getting close to finishing this project. Are you still planning on using it for cattle?

For now. I don't expect to poar the concrete floors until next summer, so I figure that we're still at least a year from using it for livestock. We've talked about getting out of the cattle, but haven't made any moves in that direction yet. If I can get the walls closed in and doors made this winter, I'll be happy.

I think my next step needs to be figuring out how I am going to make the sliding doors and verify that they work properly before tying in the flashing over the track. I think I'm going to be limited to about 1-1/2" thick for the 8'-6" wide x 8'-3" tall sliding door. Got any ideas Eddie?

I may have to fur out the track some. I'll post some close-up pix shortly.

A bit of redesign work, and I think the first door might be ready to hang this weekend. No pix yet. Let me make sure that my redesign works first. If not, you'll get pix of the demolition. LOL
