On a website i found i read about a guy who turbocharged his Mower. He also bored the cylinder and customized the intake and camshaft. But he also said that he shimmed the valve springs so that they were tighter. if I did this on my craftsamn would it enhance performance?

lawnduster, well mostly it would probably help your mid-range torque ,But to utilize the most benefit you would probably want to run it a little higher in RPM ,But only for a short while ,til the rod blew out the side of the crank case.

Those mods are for high RPM performance which unless its been balanced, with high RPM it will shake itself to an early bearing failure or worse....

Sounds like a lot of work for a little more power,Why not just get a larger engine to start with? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Like nasty said... it could be done. But I can't imagine actually doing it. There is no telling how much you would spend doing all that. You would be a whole lot better off getting a bigger engine that would fit in your tractor.

The best place to learn about increasing the hp output in small engines is Brian Miller's Web site.
He has changed the site, but it looks like most of the information is still there but harder to find.

Do you think it will give a better cut? Would this increase blade speed?
