Pasture mowing

This has been a wet and cool summer. I have had to mow the lawn every week and the grass has not slowed down. Normally I need to mow my horse pastures 3-4 times a year. This year I was lazy and didn't mow the pastures until late June. That was the last time I needed to mow the pastures. Have I not needed to mow the pastures again because they went to seed before the first mowing?

You need to put in some cows with the horses to keep the grass under control so a once a year mowing to get the weeds before they go to seed is all that is required.
