Parts costs

I bought a Yanmar sa24 at auction ,it was non op.Started it and it blew water out the over flow. thout I could replace the head gasket but I was wrong..
Long story short I !!%## my self.
Cracked head.Dealer quoted $2,000. for a striped head.I had no idea that tractor parts were that high.This is a 1.266L , 3 cyl with a head 1/2 the size of a chevy V8 head.
Can anyone point me in an afordable direction.

Depending on what the engine is, and what else it was used in you might find parts on eBay. I can find many of the parts for the Mitsubishi engine in my TYM on eBay, becasue the engine was used by several manufacturers in a bunch of different equipment form fork lifts, to mini-excavators.
