Cost would keep me from doing that, but it sure is neat and tidy. A great sales tool.
However, IMO, if the sides don't fold away easily, then getting the wood out would be much too much of a pain to beat a flat pallet. Again, just my opinion.

Currently, as I cut trees limbs and trees around the property I stack the wood where it is. that should give me something to do next year I guess. The dead-falls and such are way more than enough wood for me for a few years now.

I'm starting to see alot of the totes around and if you know the right people you can get them cheap or even free. I cut a small hole in one side of them so i can get the wood out easy. When i bring them in the garage i double stack them so i can get alot more wood in the garage. It cuts down on how many times i have to handle it, the rest is with the tractor.
Where are you finding them? Around here they want over $100 for one.

Do you have a pic to post of that hole in the side. Intriguing to me. Will look for something cheap, but as mentioned...they seem to be quite pricey.

I use bulk bags on pallets from these guys - BAG Supplies :: Packaging Suppliers covering the UK, Europe and North America - they supply Europe and NA.
I went for the 80 x 80 x 80 as they are approx half the volume of the standard metre cubes and thus easier on my loader (max 300Kg).
I split with pto splitter on back of tractor, then turn tractor round and with forks on the loader, hook the four straps on the bags over the loader forks to hold the bag open then fill it by hand. I then lift it onto a pallet to move it around - which also allows me to stack them 2 high (my loader does not reach high enough to stack 2 high with bag hanging from the straps).
The bags are not cheap, but should be reuseable several times and the vents do seem to allow all the wood in the bag to dry through.
The only down side is that the bags do not fill the pallet, so when the pallets next to each other there is wasted space.

I was looking at one of those cages the other day trying to come up with a use for it. Didn't like having to reach over the top to stack and remove the wood, but if one side was removable..........
Around here they normally come with a plastic water tank in them. People use the tank and the cage seems to disappear.
