P series front axle problems

I have a 2015 7040 cps. At 109 hours the front axle made a gear stripping noise and locked up. It's at the dealer now and they are going to be contacting me after they verify what failed. Anyone else experience this? I understand they had a wheel bearing recall a few years back.

We've seen the inner wheel bearing fail a few times, usually when it finally let's go the wheel is tilted in and it will start to leak. LS came out with an updated design last year that replaces the entire outer housing and so far it has held up well.

I've heard about the bearing failures. The axle has no leaks and no tilting wheels. I believe its the ring and pinion that busted.

I thought they replaced them with an upgraded better bearing.

That's what I was told, but one side failed twice.

There was two fixes, at first LS supplied an upgraded bearing but we still had a few that failed. Then they redesigned the outer housing and that combined with the upgraded bearings seems to have resolved the problems.
