After about one hour the temp gauge hit 100 on it way into the red ...

I have replaced the thermostat and the problem still remains ...

Outside temp between 80 and 100 ...

This has happen anytime I run it up to one hour continuous ...

Open to any suggestions as to what I should check ...

The dealer said they do not check timing or valves as I remember that could lead to over heating?

They did put a 50/50 mixture in radiator ...

Only 14 hours on engine ...

thanks,
greg

PS: This is a 4 cyl. Jinma

100 C or 100 F ? and is your radiator free of dirt on the cooling fins and geting good air flow, if it's restricted that would cause it also
just some things to consider

Scroll down near the bottom of this chinese tractor page and you will find this subject "Jinma 224 Temp". Here is a link http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/chinese-tractors/103049-jinma-224-temp.html

Just about everything I said in post #8 applies to your situation also. Poor waterflow, Poor airflow, leaking headgasket, timing or simply overloaded...

What are you trying to do during this hour when it overheats?

MrJimi: 100 c ... all clear in the radiator area ...

Ronmar: You bet I read that thread ... No bubbles ...

I may have found the answer ... You all tell me ...

I raised the loader very high, basically above my head and it did run cooler ... at least it did not approach the 100 c mark ...

When I was thinking restriction I was not thinking loader until I RE-read the thread Ronmar pointed out ...

The loader is out away from the grill at least 2 feet, I wouldn't think it would have much effect unless you are at highway speed or happen to be pointed into a breeze.

What kind of dealer doesn't/can't check valve and injector timing?? I would kick them to the curb.

Yes, overheating can be caused by incorrect injector timing but not valve timing. Check for airflow restrictions through the radiator, blow it out back-to-front with compressed air if possible. Other things to check are the air filter element and V-belt tension. Has the cooling system ever been flushed? Are you overloading the engine? What color of smoke comes from the exhaust?

Maybe check / verify the actual temperature with another gage / thermometer ? Could it be the gage or sender unit is not reading right?

Thank you Rob & GuglioLS ...

I will check the temp with a thermometer in the radiator cap opening next time it heats up ...

I would buy a mech. gauge but not sure with the threads mate ...

Rob, I am going to flush the radiator asap and black smoke ... I do not think the dealer flushed it only filled it ...

thanks very much!!!

Bad idea. That could land you in the emergency room.

If the dealer didn't flush it, chances are good there wasn't any anti-freeze in there either. Don't stop at flushing the radiator, flush the engine block too. Twice.

Black smoke is unburned fuel, which lends support to the injection timing suggestion.

Hey greg ...

Oh I know that opening the cap is a little messy ... will have gloves on and a towel over the cap ...

The dealer said they put a 50/50 mix antifreeze in ...
