If you dont own a "Mighty Mite" you should. It would suck the two gals, quarts, ounces you need and the problem is fixed. Also removes old brake fluid, and if you buy the one that will handle fuels you wont be bothered there either. Getcha some.

plug a hyd. hose in a remote, put the open end in a bucket and pull the remote lever under idle, worked for me.

Obviously most here would worry, I would not. I'd run it as is.

I figured if I'm gonna do it, I may as well get it right...anywho, unscrewing the HST filter worked great. I thought it would only drain the filter, but actually It will drain more than that.. Thanks guys!!

:thumbsup: Ditto, actually, I run mine overfilled all the time... mainly because Kubota had a kit to raise the level of oil for the over-riding pto clutch. The kit just changed the sight glass to a dip stick a little higher up...

There's no sight glass on my 2005 L4330. The oil is so clear, with my aging eyes, even with a magnifying glass I didn't get it right. Then I was pulling up hill backwards and I guess the fluid wasn't sufficient at that angle. All's well that ends well.

...Fill er up, start pullin, tractor couldn't do it in Mid range, had to get in low range...

I think you were just in the wrong range for pulling the heavy load. The pump will get enough oil to pump even if you are very low (in my case, 2 gallons low). The "extra" volume of oil is for keeping it cool. :2cents:

When I lose power, first I check to see if I left the brake on (which happens all too much) next I check is the range I'm in. I run a lot in High gear - which has zero pulling / pushing power.
