Buying Advice Overall best tractor?

You might be the guy I am looking for. What brands are you selling at this time? You certainly have the experience with many, what do you like best.

We are currently selling the CaseIH which is built by shabaru and also co-marketed by NH for the CNH line-up.

Cub Cadet which is currently marketing Yanmar.

Kubota

Kubota started it all for the most part here in the US coming over in the late 60's.

They have more firsts then the rest put together like heated and air conditioned cabs, grease fittings on loaders and backhoes like construction equipment and that brings up there TLB line of mini commercial units and the list goes on.

When a marketing company changes brands often the parts of the older models might become a little harder to get as it has to go through more channels to get to you! The frustration of the wait is only made worse by the price of everyone handling it!

May I ask why you seem so reluctant to give us more information? :confused3: Believe me, the more info we have, the better that we can actually help you. If we stay general, that's all your going to get, general brochure information. I guess if that is all you want though.

Exactly. And in this HP range knowing the specifics can be important because you are right on the line as to what constitutes a compact tractor vs an ag tractor and the differences can be significant depending on your needs. For example, a 45-50 hp ag tractor can weigh a lot more than something like my L4400. This can translate into better pulling for ground engaging equipment and higher 3 pt lift capacity for the ag tractor. It can also translate in a lot heavier tractor which can be a liability if towing is an issue. For instance I can safely tow my L4400, plus FEL and an implement with my 03 F150. But thats about the max. So if I bought a heavier tractor I'd be looking at moving up to something like an F250 or newer F150. That kind of mistake can be costly.

My goal was to see if anyone would say good things about the cheap tractors, like the Chinese ones. I did not want to target that line, because I only wanted a Cheap one if it was going to be reliable. I am looking at the 50 HP range. Thanks for your help

The Chinese have made a lot of cheap tractors, UTV/ATV's and from looking at all of the different forums, you pretty much get what you pay for. For those mechanically inclined, they can work well, but for the rest of us not so much.

If they were really good, most of us would own them.

Good luck.

I've only ever owned my current Kubota ... Are the Chinese tractors similar to the light-weight, rather junky go-karts, mini-bikes & ATVs I see right inside the front glass windows of Pep Boys?

If so, I personally would stay away. They seem to be throw-away items, or at least something that's gonna require a lot of fixing all the time. "Maybe" it makes sense if you're buying a go-cart or mini-bike that somebody's gonna out-grow in a couple years anyway ... but a tractor?!?

If I were you, I'd stay away form the Chinese stuff. (except main brands like John Deere)

Have you done any research in the Chinese forums? I think that you will find that if you are mechanically inclined, purchase from one of the few good Chinese dealers, than you can be a happy owner with a good tractor for a lower cost than going with a name brand. Or you can be like so many of us and get a name brand and hopefully have a good dealer to go with it.

We could still use some more info to be able to give you some better info on what you may need for what your doing. There's more to the tractor owning thing than just deciding what brand to buy. ;)

Interesting, I searched Chinese tractor forum, and I found one. I will see what they have to say! Thanks.
