Hello All,

I am from SW Florida and have been shopping for a 2210 for the past few days. I have gotten quotes from two dealers so far for the 2210, 62" mmm, 200CX FEL, and BB1048 box blade. One quote was for $16,039 and the other was for $16,374. Am I missing something here? That would put me in the $18,000 range after taxes and "admin" fees. It seems that most of the posts I am reading are in the sub-$14,000 range for the this set-up.

I made an additional mistake today of allowing one of the dealers to talk me into test driving a 3120. That was a huge mistake. Now I am trying to justify to myself why I NEED the 3120 over the 2210. It is a seriously nice unit. The 3120 with the 300CX FEL, 60" finishing mower (by Bush Hog), and a 60" box blade was $21,400. That seems like a steal after seeing the prices for the 2210. He knocked 22% off of the base tractor without any negotiating. After all my comparison shopping in the 2210 category, now I feel I need to revisit the Kubota and NH dealers to see the tractors which compare to the 3120.

Hummmmmmmmm.............When I was shopping, JD consistantly had prices much higher than other manufacturers and an unwillingness to negotiate. The equipment is exceptional but you may need to re-evaluate your need and might try expanding your search to other JD dealerships. I am not slamming JD, just making the point that you might not need the Cadillac of tractors, your profile gives us no clue. Unless your dead set with going with JD, you'll find many other manufacturers you can get the larger tractor for alot less money! I can think of 1 ... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif... where you could save thousands.

Does sound outrageous to me. My 2210 was delivered September 2004. 210 loader, 54" MMM deck, filled rear tires for around $12,900 plus tax. Seemed like others at the time we able to do a few hundred better than I got on the price, and I did find a lot of variance between dealers. The dealer closest to me came down from $14,100 to $13,900. I don't know if they thought I would shop around or not, but they just were not negotiable. One mistake I made was not getting the dealer I did buy from to agree to do the 50hr service check for free. I have heard other say you can expect 2 or $300 for this service.

One of my brothers bought a 2210 last fall with a FEL and blower for ~ 14k.

If you're not trading, shop by phone. Decide what tractor, options and implements then call around to whatever distance you would feel comfortable traveling to get your tractor. Your local dealer will still make money off parts and repairs.
Also keep in mind steel has gone way up (doubled I think), so a price from even six months ago will be lower than todays by a good bit.
Good luck and stay with the green paint. JD is a good product and they have a strong resale value down the road.

Bought my JD 2210 in Florida in June 2004 for $15,500 tax, delivery, etc. JD 2210, 62"MMM, 48" Box blade (compact size designed for the tractor), I-match, landscape rake and FEL w/ 49" bucket w/ leveler. Shopped by phone and they delivered. Best price (and a fair deal) I got without having to haggle. 0% financing for 24 months, no money down. Still have not been to the dealership. Everything has been by phone and dealing with the dealership has been all positive. Just sent it in for the 50 hr service.

Great tractor and no regrets.

Not sure how far the dealership would be from you but might be worth a call. Want the dealership name send an e-mail.

Hi, Mike,

Just bought a 2210 with the 200cx loader 53",62c mower,47" two stage snow blower, ballast box,and i-Match hitch for $16,345. That blower unit with hydraulics and power take off kit is almost $3000 alone. Not sure what the box blade attachment cost, but it can't be any were near the cost of the blower. That price of $16,374 is pretty high.

Also from SW Florida here and looking at the same tractors as yourself basically. Don’t know how long you’ve lived in the area but it is typical of the area to be over priced and usually poorly stocked and while I’m at it, incompetent as well. Doesn’t matter if its tractors cars or anything else, this area is the pits when it comes to major purchases. I won’t even go into the Kubota dealer who used every cuss word in the book as casual conversation and trashed his competitor on the phone. I have no problem with language, but it would seem to me this man does not know if I find this offensive, so it is incredible a person would be so course with a stranger. I would have serious doubts about buying from a guy like this, if he has a foul mouth on a friendly basis, what would he say if you had warranty issues?! I was probably in the same dealers as yourself recently, though I didn’t see any 2210’s in stock. I did ask my closest Kubota dealer on the phone about a Turf Special, he said he hadn’t heard of it and would check and call me back. He never returned the call. A few days ago I went there and asked in person, was told “there is no Turf Special”. I replied I have seen them myself while on vacation out of state, he had no response to that. Later while pricing a regular 7510 he noticed Turf Special in his rebate section....well HELLO Jethro! Another dealer fairly close has one, I have yet to get a price after trying twice to get one, guess they don’t want to sell them, they look so pretty on the lot and all. In all fairness, he seems like a nice guy and busy, but it would seem to me a dealer is there to sell machines, and one cannot sell them without a price. A third dealer has one also, his full page color ad’s claim “we will not be undersold”....his price is $2000. higher than all the dealers in NC and GA. BTW....I got a quote in GA on a 2210 for 11,500. with 62” deck no loader, was told a loader would be roughly 2500.

Welcome to Southwest Fla, the home of incompetent price fixing at its best.

Thanks for the great advice everybody.

OrangeBlueGreen,

Bingo, You hit the nail right square on the head. I took off all last week for the sole purpose of shopping for and buying a tractor. I could not believe some of the stuff I saw and heard at some of the dealers. I am having trouble understanding how they stay in business. I have given up on the 2210. I found one in this area and the dealer would not budge on price. I have moved on to Kubota. I have been trying to buy a B7610 or a B7510 Turf Special for several days now. My local dealer, great guy, will not go below $16,450 for the B7610, LA 352 FEL, and 60" MMM. He seems to be about $1500 higher than what others are paying and other quotes I have seen from out of town. Here is the funny part. I stopped by yesterday just to see if they had gotten anything new in and they had two B7510 Turf Specials. This is the exact tractor that I wanted all along. The manager gave me his best price of $17,400!!!!!!!!! This tractor should sell in the $14,000 or even less range according to every other dealer I have spoken to in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. For a diference of $3400, I will travel out of state and roll the dice on warranty/service issues. I told him there must be some mistake because his price was almost $2000 over full retail for everything. He was certain that his price was not retail or over and was discounted. I am going back Tuesday to speak with him one more time just to see if I can work this out with him. I really want to buy local and I like the guy, but this is a little bit beyond reasonable if you ask me.
