The five places who make custom hoses locally, are pretty much within a few percent of each other. Small town, where everyone knows everyone. So, they are pretty competitive. Yes, custom hoses cost more per foot than the chiwanese mass produced stuff at the farm and ranch stores.

I've bought a few pre-made hose assy's off of Ebay for my tractor and a hydroboost install on my Bronco. Got them from maza4141 and adrian22305 and have been thoroughly satisfied. They make custom hoses too.

I have had 2 hoses made at O'Reilly and am having massive sticker shock, wondering if they are intentionally fleecing me. The last one - 8' of 3/8" with 2 JIC fittings was $152. Does that sound right?

I was looking on Tractor Supply's website and I can buy an 8' section of 3/8" hydraulic hose with male NPT ends for $35, and two 3/8" female pipe x 3/8" female JIC swivel fittings for $20, totaling $55+ tax. I wanted to get some opinions. I did not realize I could get it from Tractor Supply until after I bought it and installed it.
I usually get my hoses at the local Co-Op. If I recall correctly, about 5-6 months ago, I got a ~12' 3/8 with one straight & one right angle made up while I watched/waited for under $20. (I think it was $18 & change).

I've always had good luck with the Co-Ops for many items including fuel, seed, fertilizer, wire, etc. You might want to check around and find your local one. Ours are typically FSC Co-Ops

I bought a crimper a few years ago, it's paid for itself already with all the custom hoses I've made for my equipment and various projects.

Has also gotten me out of a jam more then once when a hose blew on a Saturday evening and needed to finish a job.

Saves a lot of money and frustration when you need to make a lot of custom hoses.

The one time that I compared price, the parts store was about the same price as ordering the original hose from Kubota with shipping. I don't need a new hose that often, and I appreciate the convenience of having a new one made while I wait.

I want to replace a quarter inch hose on my bush hog. About 10 foot in length. Local part store told me up front it run 10 dollars an inch. I declined. I’ll run it till something happens. May out last me

Discount hydraulic hose will assemble hoses for a relatively small fee, the longer hoses will save you more as it's a flat fee and the price of the house itself is lower.

Several have mentioned it: Surplus Center. It's probably $40 max for a 10' 1/4" hose there. Your choice of NPT or JIC fittings. Worst case you add a couple additional fittings if you need elbows or something.
