Ordered a 2022 Ram 2500

And the tires don't need all the sun they get in some of the storage lots.

Has anyone read of how quickly that stock build up is cycling?
I've been saving my $$ and a newish truck might be a place to dump them.
Stop saving pennys and start saving gold bricks with the price of new trucks

Recently, I saw a couple custom F-250s--VERY nicely done-up custom jobs--going down the road on a trailer. The truck pulling them was a big Ram.
Just thought I'd toss that out there ;)

Customer orders get priority so with the new car shortage, dealer would be happy if she declines the order.

It seems the Contractors that haul vehicles cross country prefer the Dodge trucks. Not sure why.

I'm sure her order only put her at the top of the list for that car. By the time it gets here there will be half a dozen or more names added to the list.

On December 3, 2021 I ordered a Ram 2500 Laramie. The sales manager said it should take about 3 to 4 months to arrive. Usually it's 3 months, but the factory shuts down for 3 weeks for Christmas. Today he told me that it has been assigned a VIN. And he says Chrysler will email me with updates on the progress of the build. I haven't got anything from Chrysler yet.

I'll be pulling my hair out waiting for it in about 10 weeks.

I ordered the 6.4L hemi engine. I have another 2019 Tradesman with the 6.4L and I really like it. And the diesel is a $9400 option.
We had been talking about buying a new 3/4 ton truck for the last few years. Started shopping about a year ago but could not find anything with a regular cab except in white. We got serious 4 months ago and decided on a new GMC Sierra. The new Chevy Silverados are UGLY. Anyway, our local dealers could not give us any info on the trucks at all. As I was building a truck on the GMC website, to get some idea of the final cost, I checked dealer inventories. Up popped the exact truck we were looking for at a dealer 350 miles away. Within a week the dealer had a cashier's check and we were on the road to Springfield, IL. When we got there there were three people that we could have sold the truck to for more than we paid.
In the small town we live in our truck is a "star". Everyone remarks on it from the postmaster to the gas station customers.

I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 with hemi. 258,000 miles. Showing it’s age. But still reliable and strong.

I ordered a super duty March of 2020 and took delivery August 20, 2020. That was six and a half months during the shut down here in Michigan

Please tell me you were smart enough to get the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package with it.
I did get that package. I also got the "Snow Chief' package even though we rarely get any snow down here. I also got the bed utility group which includes LED bed lighting, sprayed in bed liner and a bed step. I got the Laramie Level A group instead of the Level B. Both have the same options, and Level B includes heated rear seats. I didn't feel I needed the heated rear seats for an additional $2300.

I got the bucket seats, and the 12-inch display entertainment system. I guess we can't really call it a radio anymore, because it's a lot more than just an AM/FM radio. I drove a friends Ram 1500 a few weeks ago and he had the 12-inch system, and that's what really got me started looking for a truck.

I did not order the Safety B Group, which includes Adaptive Cruise and Steering, and a few other things. This may be one that I wish I had ordered.

Congrats. It's too bad diesel fuel is as much as premium gas, these days. I guess Americans forgot its a By product of gasoline. So they trickled the price up and truckers just passed the cost on to us. The extra process of decreasing to sulphur killed it too. I thing Mopar was the way to go. Chevy's DEF heater issue and Fords Cab removal for maintenance doesn't leave much of a choice

Problem is, you'll pay sticker. No deals to be had and far as I'm concerned, no vehiclle that depreciates is worth more than the farm is.

I buy all my vehicles off lease and always have. I let the original buyer / leassor take the depreciation hit. Bought a 2 year old Suburban LTZ, loaded with every option for about half of sticker. with less than 25K on it. Stickered for 75 and I paid 30 and it was 100% mint. Never even used the fold down 3 row seating. Paid cash too. I don't do finance unless it's zero percent (like Kubota has). Speaking of that I bought a new 2021 Kubota bailer, loaded. Stickered for 45. Dealer sold it to me for 40, Kubota gave me a 5 grand ag discount and with me trading in my 12 year old New Holland well cared for 450, the new one cost me 10 grand and I financed the balance at 0 percent. Was a no brainer and it makes me money, not cost me money.

A new fully loaded King Ranch is 80. I bet I can buy a 2 year old off lease one for about half that.

If I was to pay 80, would be for something that made money for me like a new tractor, not something that depreciates when you drive it off the lot.

No problem with you doing it, I won't.
Not financing is costing you money when the rates are low. You could take that money and earn up to a double digit return in good investments vs using that money to purchase a product that decreases in value each year.
cA good example is Apple. They have about 200 billion dollars cash on hand. They are also buying back stock. They do this by borrowing the money by selling corporate bonds. Their cash is invested and earns more than the interest they pay on the bonds. The stockholder wins because money is earned, not spent and the outstanding share number is reduced adding value to his stock. Apple is now heading towards being a 3 trillion dollar company and is very wisely managed.
The return of their corporate bonds is probably higher than the cost of the loan for a truck or just buy the stock and it’s dividend is in the 2% range in addition to the growth value of the stock.

I read Ford is creating their own chip manufacturing plant in the US...finally some of these companies are waking up. We can't be so dependent on foreign parts for critical items.
Unions and high minimum wage is the blame for no Homeland manufacturing.

At least Stellantis is better than Daimler who purchased Chrysler for their cash reserves and used them up.

The just announced a 143 million plant expansion at their Global Engine Plant in Dundee, Michigan (next town east of me) with an added 168 new jobs too. Know a few of their employees, good paying jobs, good fringes too. I believe they are UAW but not sure.
