Hated to spend the money, but what's nine hundred dollars more? Has anyone here replaced there seat with one from Kubota? If so how do you like it? Anyone want a Kubota suspension seat with less than 2 hours on it make me a offer.

Did you have to buy an air pump/compressor as well?

Maybe not a bad thing to spend money on. I hit a rut out on a rural back road road driving my Cushman mower and had hip pain for a couple of days.

Stupid question though. Wouldn't a good cushman provide at least some protection?

According to the dealer everything is self contained under the seat.

I believe Kubota uses seats made by Grammar. It cost me about $1100 to put one in my L5740 due to needed cutting, welding etc., but it was money well spent, it's a whole different tractor.

Congratulations, you are going to love it.

I've got one tractor with an air seat and one without. Huge difference. Worth the money.

I like my Kubota (Grammer) seat...I'm glad I bought it! I have had four back surgeries with at least one more in my immediate future so felt that the seat was a necessity, not a luxury. The only downside (for me anyway) is that this seat doesn't tip up so that you can use the PTO while off of the tractor; I mentioned this in another thread. The reality is that it doesn't take that much weight to defeat the deadman switch but it still is a little upsetting that Kubota hasn't come up with a solution so that I don't have to use a log or cement block on the seat when I am off of the tractor.

Maybe our JD310 has a Grammer-made seat; I don't know who JD sources them from. Maybe they make it in house. The downside is that the seat loses pressure in a few hours and needs some pumping up again. The compressor has to pump it up from full flat to full height when doing the first start each morning too. JD says, "they all do that". Well, maybe.....
Does the Kubota seat also need pumping up each morning?

Re the deadman switch, if you are going to wrestle with putting weight on the seat, why not just tape the wires together and bypass the switch altogether? Or put a toggle switch in parallel with the existing switch to defeat it whenever wished.

Our Grammar has to be pumped up every three or four days, but I often adjust to different levels depending on what I'm doing and everyone who uses it likes a different setting, so it's hard to tell how long to a complete deflation.

I have a grammer seat on my ZT and it's pretty smooth.I set the height 2 1/2 years ago and it's never changed. It was added as an option over the factory seat which didn't have arm rests. However the comparison between it and my 3560 factory seat is too small to justify the $$$.The overall travel, adjustability and suspension is the same. I have no complaints. However the tractor grammer seats may have other options.

Kubotacres, so your saying the suspension part of the seat is the same? and you think all I'm going to get is the upper seat part only? According to the dealer everything from the floor pan up will come with it. But that's the dealer talking too, if you know what I mean lol. Thanks

The grammer seat I'm referring too is off a Zero Turn mower. I'm assuming that it should be a difference on the tractor seats.... Or I'd atleast hope it would be for the $$$.

I don't know about on the GL, but on our M8540, the base can be bought separately as it has the compressor and used with the stock upper seat. We bought one, but haven't had the time to install it.
