I purchased my son a Gerber pocket knife for christmas that came with a red aluminum exterior. Hopefully this will help him keep it a little longer.

My 15 year old son has been through more knives than I can count.(I seem to recall having the same problem as a kid  ) He doesn't even know when or where he loses them. I saw one of these doofy survival shows once that actually had a good idea. They tied a lanyard onto their survival knife handle and attached about 10-12 inches of bright orange streamer to the lanyard. When your life depends on a knife, that makes a lot of sense. I'm getting my son a sheath knife for skinning for Christmas (he's lost a couple of folding skinners already) and I may do the lanyard/streamer thing just for a joke!

Can't beat JD green. If you stop making payments -- just park it in the corn field when the bank comes looking for it.

I have to admit that green paint makes it hard to find bolts, nuts, washers, etc. if dropped in the grass.

Along similar lines...I saw a camo cell phone cover the other day and couldn't IMAGINE why anybody would buy one. If I dropped my phone in the woods I'd want it to stick out like a sore thumb!

George, you have perfect timing, the day you refered to "Dueling Banjos," I noticed that the AMC Channel was showing "Deliverance" that night. I had to watch it to see the kid play his banjo; man, what a freak of nature. No matter how many times I see that movie, it is still hard to see Ned Beatty get "violated."

Last year when having our land surveyed I droped my phone in the woods. Fortunately one of the surveyors had a phone and I had him call my phone. It took several tries since voice mail would keep answering it to find it. Glad I didn't have it set to vibrate only.
