Hey guys, how concerned do I need to be about a couple pinhole leaks in a hydraulic hose on my FEL? I was in the woods today, got stuck (couldn't back uphill) had to take out a tree to go forward and I saw a puff of spray come out of the hose where I'd earlier noticed some fluid beaded up.

On the Grand Ls, the lines are contained inside the lift arms, right? I imagine this would protect them but also make them a PITA to service.

I would think pretty concerned. I would be replacing them right away. That high pressure fluid is dangerous, don't get your hand near it. I am sure they won't get any better, only worse:) How is the hunt for the new machine going?

The hunt is still goin on. I am on my way now to look and kick the tires some more.

Here's a question about quick attach: is there a difference between the Kubota and Kioti quick attach? I notice they look different. Will they accept different implements? Is there a difference between either of them and SSQA?

Drove a B3300, sat on an L3940, and still came back to the L3540. We came to $24,391 with LA724, HD bucket, R4 tires, 50 hour service, delivered. He is coming out this evening to look at my tractor as a potential trade-in.

Our L5030 and M8540 are both SSQA; not familiar with Kioti, but thought they were also; John Deere has proprietary quick attach.

SSQA is a Bobcat invention. The Kubota and the Kioti are compatible, it is an industry standard.. Now that said.. you know about industry standards.. there are tolerances and differences in interpretation.. bottom Line my home made SSQA bucket would not fit the Kioti nor my Pallet forks, both required a little file work on the bottom latch area they were too tight.. they were tight on the Kubota too, but they fit out of the box. But had to be loosened up to fit on the Kioti. No big deal.. You have undoubtedly noticed the Kioti has one handle and the Kubota 2, but that does not make any difference. other than on my home made bucket (modified) I had to remove a piece of metal on the back of the bucket that worked OK on the Kubota, but not on the Kioti as the linkage that allows both bottom latch pins to operate with one handle hit it on the Kioti. Of course on the Kubota there are separate handles
These things might have been issues for someone without any metal working experience, or any tools. They were just a minor annoyance to me, and easily fixed, including the cutting scar I made on the home made bucket that I welded up with some 7014. Of course the Kioti bucket fits like a dream, and I would assume it would have easily fit on the Kubota too, but the guy took it right away, so I never got a chance to play that game.:) Bottom line everything "should" fit.. but some things may be tight or something..This is still farm machinery.

L3540 HST
LA724
QA
72" HD bucket
R4 tires
50 hour service
Delivered
Sold

Came to $24,391 @ 0% for 60 months, and they are giving me $8,000 trade-in on my tractor. I feel I did pretty well on the trade-in value because less than a year ago I paid $7,000 for the tractor, an auger, and 52" tiller. I am keeping the implements and getting the $8,000 toward the tractor, plus that saves me $626 in taxes, so basically $8,626 for my old tractor. I don't know how long it will be until I get the L3540, but I'm pretty excited!

Thanks, I'm pumped. I definitely will not forget the pictures. If you knew how many pictures I have taken of my L4300 you would probably laugh. I forgot to add that the rears will be filled, just don't know how much that will cost yet. They do not fill tires there but have someone come do it. They also do not weld on bucket hooks, he said for liability reasons, so I guess my dad will get to do that.

Thank you. All the patience and advice on this thread really helped. I probably won't be taking off work, so I'll try to schedule delivery for a day I already have off work.

Hey DevilDog, what size brush hog do you run? I figured it would handle a 6 foot finish mower without a problem, just wondering if I can keep my 6 foot brush hog. At this point I've tamed most of the wilds on my place and just brush hog tall grass. I figured it would be fine, might just have to go slow which is also fine because I already go quite slow on account of my hilly property.

Also, does anyone have their Grand L set with the wheels at their max widest? Salesman said they usually try to match rear width to bucket width, but with my hills should I/could I go wider?

Mine is at the widest, 72", same as the bucket.

Yes, we have them as wide as they will go on our L5030 due to our hills and wouldn't have them a bit narrower.

Congratulations on your new tractor.

So 72" is the widest then. That's perfect, I just didn't want them all the way out to 7' if they went that far.
