Opinions On This Dump Trailer?

07 sure-trac 14 foot 14,000 gvw $4,500 used about 8 years ago. Takes min. of 1 ton dual wheel truck to pull it. hauls 6 tons without a problem, but I usually run 5 tons average. --- The problem with these are the electric hydraulic pumps the put on them are junk! --mine wont dump 1 load without charger hooked to a new battery on it. ---currently junking the electric thing and mounting a gas motor and regular pump and valve on it.
For casual use with small tow vehicle the little ones are probably o.k. ----just dont get a sure-trac brand!

Perhaps you should have your 14 year old, 'purchased used' trailer fixed rather than bashing the brand.

My 14k Sure Trac scissor-lift dump trailer works perfectly, absolutely zero issues at all, ever. A DRW truck is not needed to safely pull a loaded 14k lb trailer, LOL. I just picked up my 2nd Sure Trac trailer last week...Extremely pleased with Sure Trac, that's why I custom-ordered #2.

I bought the smaller one Cam single axle 3500 lb and also found it would overload very easily with dirt, gravel, firewood. It would pick up the tongue when trying to dump also.
I sold it and a 20 ft flat trailer and now have the 6x12 tandem axle dump from CAM.
It’s been a good compromise for an all around trailer for my use.
I tow it with an F150 ecoboost but have the max tow kit from factory and airbag helpers. Never needed them though.

Though this is perfect for me as I wanted to be able to load a tractor in it, I think a 6x10 tandem axle dump without fenders rated a 9900 lb would be a great trailer for most people.

Picked up a Diamond C, tandem axle, 7,000 lb in December. Dealer had it listed for $5,195 and last one of these in stock. Like you I needed something I can tow with my Toyota Tacoma and this loaded is at the max tow capability. Has ramps and tarp. Haven’t loaded it yet so can’t tell you how that is. Build quality looks good.

Get the trailer that works for YOU. I bought a small Sure-trac 4x8 many years ago when we moved to the country and it has paid for its self many times over. It is small but very handy.

Just look for a used 10’ dump trailer. My father found a 12’ for $3,000. Needed a little work, new battery etc. all minor stuff. You’ll be able to resell it for what you paid for it.
