I had a tendency to lose the 'spring' on the 'pin' that folds the ROPS.

I used a hot glue gun and laid a circle of hot glue at the base of the pin, then slid the spring back on the pin, pushed it firmly into the glue.

I have not lost a spring since. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So I'm not the only one that loses those things. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I just lose the whole bloody pin, clip, and spring. I came in one day and only had one of them. Turns out a standard hitch pin works.

I haven't lost one yet but I will. Good idea. .................or why didn't they just use a shorter pin?

The spring is there so the pin won't rattle as much. The 3054's are almost deafening at idle LOL.

My ROPS folds at the bottom and since I never fold it, I replaced the pins with a 5/8" grade 8 bolt.

I couldn't remember which side to put the spring on so I leave mine out. No rattles, maybe since I tighten the set bolt pretty hard.

I suppose you could attach the hitch pins also with some sort of lanyard also or cable tie set up.

Also the hitch pins for the guage wheels on the Kioti RFM's can pull out if you have the habbit of backing into briars like me---causing the shims to fall off and the whell to fall off and an ensuing Easter egg type hunt to reclaim the parts. A need for more zip strips. Wish I invented those dang things...

I have even lost a lynch pin from the bucket pins on the loader. I have taken to replacing the spring cotters with wire such as those all over the 3ph system.

I safety wired a bunch of stuff on the loader too.

Good quick fix Don. I don't have those on my CK20, but I've lost lynch pins out of mine from time to time.
I saw today that I lost two out of the loader pins too.

I've heard rumor, on the left coast, there is a reverse magnetic field that sucks pins and such.....
.......right off the tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

KJ, I'm not sure what causes it in your neck of the woods. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's called charging into a wooded area and really wreaking havoc and funny little appendages reaching out and pulling on the pins just to get back at me!!
