I have recently purchased an older hay wagon and am trying to find information on the make. It has steel spoked rims and is in pretty good shape except for the bearings. If anyone has information about this wagon I would greatly appreciate it. Hopefully it will help in identifying the bearings. I am unable to find a name or insignia but a few areas have part or serial #s.

Thanks

Take it apart. If it has roller, ball or timken bearings they should be generic or a place dealing in bearings may be able to find a replacement.:)

It may also just have sleeve bearings. Those may be harder to replace.

I am in the process of cleaning the old grease off the hubs and removing them to get to the bearings. The paint scheme under the grease is red. IH or Farmall?

Thanks

I have found the IH insignia on the dust caps. Is there a secret on removing them? I do not think they are threaded even though there is a place for a socket or wrench on them.

Thanks

I have the wheel off and there is slop in the castle nut. There is no way to tighten because the spindle is not threaded. There should be some sort of rear seal to keep the grease in the assembly, but there is not.

Any help will be appreciated.

Well I have put the wheel assembly back together. Quite a chore. Not as simple as a trailer bearing. The castle is eccentric. Many spacers and dogs. Lots of crusted grease. I will be taking the assembly back apart soon as all four wheels are loose. I will post pics then.

Thanks for you response and I hope to be back into it sometime next week.

I have the same wheels. I need a hub cap to complete the set. Would you sell me a cap? My wheels are a little loose, so I will be correcting that after I clean up the wheels!
