I have an old John Deere STX 38 lawn tractor (1990 vintage) with a repalced sealed transmission. Transmission won't stay in reverse gear after gear is engaged and after traveling a few feet. Is this an indication that the transmission is broken or is it caused by the clutch slipping, loose belt or something else? Any advise would be appreciated.
