I have a small cheap metal box. It's large enough to hold a ball pein hammer and a few basic tools and wrenches. A few spare shear bolts are in there as well as a couple of rags and rubber gloves. The "leaky" area is the piano hinge, but I fixed that by glueing a strip of rubber to the top that covers the hinge. As I recall, it's a piece of old inner tube. It's stayed dry for the past few years.
If I need more tools than can fit in that, I limp the tractor back to the barn where the real tools are. Or start walking to retrieve the truck with parts and tools.
