Oh crap! My 318 is sick. Help!

I was mowing along nicely when after about 20 minutes my 318 started smoking like crazy and quit running on one cylinder. There was no unusual noise...no rattle, clicking, banging...just one cylinder down, lots of smoke and an oily mess at the exhaust pipe. What is the likely scenario? How much would an overhaul run?

Overhaul could get expensive with labor. Plus the parts can be hard to find I think, may just be that you need to find the right place or dealer. You could look into smallenginewarehouse.com for a replacement engine. I would think it is going to need a rebuild though.
