I've been riding motorcycles for almost 40 years and have had the chance to ride some of those "old school" chopper designs (not OCC), and cannot imagine ever actually spending money to buy one, unless I had a Jay Leno kind of collection.
They ride like crap, and if you have more than 18 years old (at which age you are invulnerable), the hard tail frames are killers on your back on northeast roads.
Admittedly I am showing my age by the fact I now ride a Harley Electra Glide, with cruise control, radio/CD, and a comfy seat. But I would head for the west coast on mine without giving it a second thought (except for the wife and job thing) knowing it would be a great ride.
An OCC bike is/was cool from the fabrication point of view for a few shows, but that has grown old.
For mindless TV, I do kind of like "Flip This House" on A & E, but wonder how they find a contractor to paint a large house for $1,000?
Since it is supposed to be a rainy afternoon here, I think I'll dig out my
Easy Rider and
Wild Angels movies for an old school biker marathon.
