What is the best cultivation tool that can be mounted on a Ford two row cultivator frame for controlling nutsedge near or in the row. Planting peas, beans, and corn in sandy soil. Currently using sweeps to cultivate between the rows but need to get closer to the row.

I think what you really need is a sprayer. Basagran will help get rid of nutgrass. If uncontrolled it will choke out everything.

John, thanks for the input and will look at Basagran as a method of control. My luck will be that the nutsedge is the purple variety instead of the yellow variety where herbcide control is less effective.

Purple nutsedge maxes out at about 6 inches in height and the yellow stuff will get upwards of a foot tall.

I once had a yellow patch so thick and persistent that I ended up covering the area with clear plastic for a two year period. That did the trick. I've got another patch that I'm about to have to do the same thing to.
