No tractor yet!!!!

Heres my story so far, I ordered a 4210 eHyrdo 4WD, 420 FEL, 60 MMM, 47 BH, Box scraper from the dealer. He said that he did not have one in stock and would order it from the factory, get everything put together for me and have it ready in about three weeks. His price was fair and I was excited about getting a shinny new one, I had seen so many tractors at dealers that had spent the entire summer outside and I didn’t like the weathered and faded look they had.
He finally called and said everything was ready for pickup. I drove 350 miles one-way to pick it up, when he showed me the tractor I thought he was kidding. It was dirty even though it was still wet from them washing it. I bit my tongue and asked if I could drive it around, he gave me the key and off I went. When I took off I noted it had 17.4 hours on the meter. I parked the tractor and went inside to talk to my salesmen, I told him that I was extremely disappointed and I was paying for a new tractor and expected to get a new tractor. How could a “new” get 17 hours on it? The engine compartment was full of sand, the little nubbies on the tires were worn off and had other signs of use. After some him-hawing he said that they got the tractor from another dealer, he would truly order me another one and drop a few hundred off the price. We ended agreeing on a 4310 eHydro that he had on the lot with the same FEL, MMM, 47BH for about the same price as the 4210. He has to order in the mid PTO so it will be another week or more.
Will the 420 loader be ok on the 4310 or should I pay the extra $800 for the 430?
I hope this all works out soon.

I'm not sure but that sounds like a lot of $ to upgrade the loader. The 4310 will certainly handle the 430 loader if you have a need for it. What a bummer your dealer turned out to be.

No particular task, moving gravel and dirt, landscaping type of work. My main concern is that I have never seen a 4310 with any thing but a 430 loader, I don’t think I truly have a need for the extra reach and extra lifting capacity.

17 or so hours IS new, I don't think that they were being unethical. But the 4310 deal is over the top, they are doing you right!! I would go for it. There about $500 difference in the loaders, but given the other pricing they are offering, I'd get the 430 for $800.00

You should be happy there are some hours on the meter, let them get the kinks out before deluvery...

Yes, I can understand a handful of hours but maybe 17 is about 7-10 too many. Your dealer is offering a great deal on the 4310.

I know how you may feel about the tractor being dirty but, hopefully you'll have it plenty dirtier after you get it home.

Remember, its not a Vette or Harley, It was made to get dirty.
It'll cleanup, just give it a bath now and then.

I think that you've answered your own question.

I've owned both the 420 loader (on a 4200) and the 430 loader on my 4300. Both are serviceable loaders.

The main differences are height, capacity, and breakout force. I chose a 430 because I wanted more breakout force, greater lifting height, and a 4in1 bucket. I don't remember the exact price difference, but I think that it was a good bit less than $800.00 at the time (September 2000).

Go for the deal on the 4310! While that 4210, with 17 hours, can be sold as new by the dealer, it certainly was used for something. Perhaps it was returned by a previous, dissatisfied buyer. Or maybe it took the previous dealer 17 hours of running time to repair problems while prepping the tractor for delivery to a previous customer. Your dealer might not know the real story. Nonetheless, the result is a great opportunity for you to step-up a notch to the 4310.
