No-till corn?

Hey you'all,
New to the forum and this is my first post. I apologize if I ask something that's been covered a thousand times.
My questions are:
1) Are planters such as the JD 71 NOT for no-till applications?

2) If that is true, are there smaller, 3-point type no-till corn planters out there?

I am looking to plant around 5 acres for a food plot and need to haul a planter about 10 miles. That is why I would prefer a 3 point.

Also, can you plant rice with a no-till drill? Thanks!

#71 units are too light for true no-tilling. I've seen a few that are rigged in conjunction with a coulter cart (or toolbar w/coulters) to allow what is actually strip till planting of sorts.

There are quite a few 2-row conversions using Deere Max-emerge planter units on EBAY, ect. That particular planter is sort of the "small block Chevy" of the planter world. VERY adaptable and boat loads of aftermarket accessories available to convert to no-till.

If you're looking for a single planter that'll do just about any crop in no-till form, Google Kasco Mfg. (in Shelbyville Indiana) Look over their product line.

No clue as to the rice question..........
