Hey guys-I posted this thread in another section of the forums and was advised I may want to post into the specific Branson forum....So here here it goes.

I have a Branson 3510i that set under the barn this winter in N.C. I went out the other day to start the tractor for the first time and started on the first time. I pulled it out into the field shut the engine off, tried to start the tractor back up and nothing, absolutly nothing except I can hear the fuel pump or the injector pump. The battery is charged, no problem there. Any help would be appreciated.

When you turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump rattling, and a distinct "click" coming from near the injector pump (this is the cut off solenoid) . Basically, if the engine will not crank, it is an electrical problem associated with the switch, safety, or starter solenoid. The tractor may be in gear (shuttle safety switch), or clutch safety switch which is keeping the starter from turning. You need to check. This starter solenoid can be easily jumped if it is not cranking; however, you must make sure that the tractor is in neutral, brakes on, and you/someone else are clear of any movement and cannot be run over.

Have you checked the things suggested in the other thread? Let us know if you are gettting anywhere or if there are other symptoms.

If you have not got it started, I will send you the start and troubleshooting pages from my manual that covers your tractor. Let me know and I'll try to get it to you tonight. I got my manual from my local branson dealer.

Also, the PTO switch must be turned off before the engine will crank.

I tried to attach the Manual PDF file. If it does not work you can send me an email response if you still need this info.

One thing I forgot. This is a manual for a 3510 not the 3510i, but the dealer said it was almost identical. The manual covers th 2910 throught the 4720. Hope this helps. I a new tractor lover myself and some of the fine gentlemen on this site have given me good advice. I'm still dealing with my Branson dealer on the 4220. Have had some additional issues and still waiting to make a fianl decision on the used 4220. Best of luck with you 3510i./

Dave may be onto something here...My Branson is the first tractor that I've owned which had both a lever (PTO speed selection), and a dash switch for activation.

I remember one time I went to start mine and had a similar thing happen. I was confustigated until I realized that I must've bumped the Dash switch at some point after shutdown / prior to restart...

Sounds like a safety switch, seat, PTO,HST or neutral. Check all of them they are notorious to stick especially if the have sit for awhile. I didnt know if this tractor is HST or not so I just threw it in.

This was brought up in the other thread on the subject. I agree, seems likely to me. Would be good to hear back from the OP, to learn if his problem has been solved.

Hey Guys It has been a very long short week if you know what I mean. Any way I went out to my land this past Monday after John was so kind to send me the starting procedures. I double checked everything and guess what?! It was the PTO engaged. I really appreciate all the help that everyone gave me. You just don't know how happy I was when I figured out the problem. I'm ready to go to work now. Until next time. Happy Tractoring!!

Good news indeed!

With the kind of money most of us have tied up in equipment, it's a sick feeling when something seems to have gone wrong.

Good luck and be safe!
