Oil & Fuel No Filter Part Numbers

Greetings,

Will some one tell me why there are no filter part numbers in either of the 2 manuals that I bought. When I bought my dream tractor, a 1963 JD 3010 NFW, I bought an original owners manual and an IT shop manuals. I have read through both and can not find any filter part numbers. Is there a better manual to buy than what I have? Thanks for the help!

Yes, thank you! I use that all the time, but I would have thought that the p/n for filters would have been in both books.

No part numbers were ever listed in OM or TM. That is why a parts catalog is named as such.

Hey, another way to make more money off DIY...it just wouldn't be right to list part numbers in the big thick expensive repair manual, now would it?

One reason part #s aren't listed in TM is from time to time JD changes(updates) some part #'s. I can't see the big deal. ALL THE part numbers are readily available at JDPARTS.com(including 2 cyl tractors) and you can't say that with a ORANGE Kubota.

I always list the numbers and their replacements in my manual..Saves me time when i need one..Then there is always looking on the cover of parts book, where i have listed it again...
