Traction no brakes

I have a JD 301A with no brakes. I rebuilt the master valve. And i had brakes when i would pump them up but had to pump up every several minutes. got me thru the summer. Now the pedal goes to the floor. I disconnected the brake lines at the master cyclinder and have pressure at both lines. How hard is it to replace the hyd. brakes?

Once the master valve is putting out pressure, then it must be mechanical in the bands. So are you asking how difficult to replace the bands?

Does the hand brake provide any stopping power?

have you bled them? there is bleeder screws on the back axle, under the seat, one on each side. I have put a few thousand hours on 301As, this usually fixes them. may also check if you are using the proper hydraullic fluid:thumbsup:

Will brakes operate if pedals are locked together? I also agree on bleeding may be required.
