Spent the day mowing and clearing leaves. The 60" deck did a great cutting job. Comments from neighbors as proof (not just me). With heavy rains all week through Thursday, I was concerned with how the lawn would take the new ride. The R4s were very good. I had dropped the FEL and the BB so the weight was down. No turf tears. Then the wife decides it is her turn.:(

Ahh man, did ya have to let the wife try it out? She's got the beginnings of a big smile forming and that's no good for you. Just keep her away from the other wives or we're all in trouble:)

Too late for me; wife runs mine as much as I do almost. Of course now she is beginning to get interested in the FEL and rotary cutter. My oldest daughter also recently moved into a place where the lawn care is done, so she has been driving down to mow our 2 acre yard for "relaxation"; may have to buy another tractor.

That's about the same size as my 22HP Murray Mower that I use to cut around the house..I don't think you will ever have to worry about damage to your turf with that.

Great looking set up. I talked to the dealer about a BX2660 and he said it was only about $300 more but the problem was getting one. He would have to check around at other dealers to see if he could find one. It would be 45 to 60 days before he got anymore BX series in. The one I am looking at is one of 2 he has left. The other one is a BX1860. It will take a week for the 60 inch deck to come. I may be wrong but I do not think 2.5 HP will make a big difference for what I want to do and the only other thing I see different is the seat and he said if that was a big thing he would get one to go on the BX2360. I may be wrong. The lift specs. all seems to be the same or close to it although the PTO has a couple more HP but I am sure you know all of this. If I decide to get one I do not want to wait the 45 to 60 days to get it. The more I talk the more I am talking myself into getting it.
I have the equivalent of one of each .

I went to the dealer today and test drove the tractor and I have to say it felt good although I only drove it around the parking lot. I talked some more and got the price down to $14000.00. That is the BX2360 with 1.8 hours, the FEL and a 60 MMM and turf tires. Although I did not commit I filled out the credit app and was approved for the 0% at 60 months. We did this to lock it in incase they changed the plans this Monday. I wanted to think about it a little more before I take the plunge. If I need a box blade as some have suggested what size do I need to look for? The dealer was out of all small implements so I will have to look else where. I also wanted to thank all that gave their opinions to my questions. You were more of a help than you probably know. I will probably be asking more if I decide to go with the purchase. Thank you again.
Get the 0% loan on the bb too by buying it with the tractor.

Just took delivery of my BX2660 today. Purchased from Barlow Equipment (see listing on this site). My pricing for the tractor/loader/mower was very close to your pricing. I also purchased a box blade and rotary cutter (addtl cost). My local dealer was talking games when I asked about 2008 vs 2009 units. He said all his were 2008 but his pricing was higher than Barlow's 2009. No tax and shipping was reasonable. Might be worth a call at least for comparison.

I chose R4 from reading posts here. I do have some heavy brush work and regrading slopes but expect 80% to be lawn mowing in the near future. A set of extra rims and turfs is not overly expensive so I figured I could always pick up a set if the R4s are too hard on the turf.

Love that seat:)

I have Ags on 2 of my 3 BXs
so no need for dbl wheels and tires.

I have never had to that.
None with my AG tires either.

Seriously, wouldn't it be cheaper to have multiple tire sets than multiple tractors?...............What is the point? The accessories interchange and you can only drive one at a time. My wife is the very best, but when I try to pull the wool over her eyes I don't think I would waste it on this stunt. Each to their own, but I wouldn't try to tell everyone that it's what a normal person should try to do on every post.

OK guys. I called another dealer today and he has a new uncrated BX2660 and a 60 MMM in stock and will have the FEL Thursday. I talked him down and it is going to be the same as the other dealer was offering. If I do not chicken out tonight I am going to give him the ok to put it together tomorrow morning. I hate to say it but I am feeling a little nervous right now and a little excited also. He says he can have it here by Friday. If I decide to get it I will let you know and maybe post some pictures. :D

I had the same conversation with my dealer who said they could have the tractor within a couple days. I'm ordered it. After several months of watching, reading and listening (at times not well) it is a relief to have made the choice.
Pretty exciting really.

FSE, AHNC,

Congrats on the decision. Its a tough decision with so many choices. All of the BX's are good machines and have their respective advantages. The BX2660 with all of the extra deluxe features and additional power is a good choice especially if you are able to take advantage of the additional PTO power. You will not be wondering later if you should of gotten anything more, as you got it all. They sure are pretty when new- Looking forward to your pictures.

Took the plunge today. Call and ordered the BX2660, 60 MMM and FEL. Checked and getting a blade from Tractor Supply. I talked the dealer into doing my 50 hours maintenance for me. I just threw it out there and he went for it. Anyway it will be here Friday. Still nervous but can not wait till it gets here. Thanks all for your help in making the decision and thanks TripleR for talking me into the BX2660. I wont have to wonder if I needed the extra power now. Will try to get pictures when it gets here.

Congratulations; really think you're going to like it. I sure wish I had thought of the 50 hour service. Be sure to check your manual under the maintenance section in regards to the replacement of HST fluid. Many manuals showed no replacement of fluid, but it needs to be replaced. There is an old thread on it.

LOOK! Santa came last night! Well it finally got here but the dealer called this morning and said that Kubota decided to wait to ship my FEL till next week with a shipment of tractors and failed to let anyone know. He said he would bring the tractor as is on a Demo contract and pick it up next Wednesday and put the FEL and front grill guard on. We could do all the paper work then. They also forgot to bring the center top link. He was apologetic and is doing all the hauling free of charge. It is about 100 miles round trip. Can not really blame him for what Kubota did so all is well. Gives me a chance to try it out and let them know it there are any problems and adjustments that need doing. Anyway I have it in the garage reading and trying all the whistles and bells and plan to take it out tomorrow and cut some grass with it. I added a small cross draw bar to pull my trailer with. By the way TripleR, Love the seat. Thanks a million.

Congratulations on your new tractor; sounds like you have a pretty good dealer. I don't blame you for not waiting on the FEL.

If you have concerns, or are unfamiliar with FEL removal/installation, here is a good link. It works the same as on the 2660.

I just got mt Bro Tek stuff yesterday; can't wait to put them on. I wish someone made tail light protectors, broke another one up in my woods yesterday; my fault.

Get out and enjoy your new machine.
