I think they are narrow from the dealer too-how wide is the new rear?
It is also nice to be able to get through the smaller gates...especially in the winter for plowing up from the barn.
,here is a photo of my old 5040
the rims match. The new front rims I put on the 7040 look like they match, the back ones better now,I think
...Well I just got the new tires put on and figured would post a cple pics. Tires and rims are what come on the 8540/9540's. Also turned it to wider stance but not the widest it could go,had to un-bolt center part of rims.

I had to order the wheels and tires, they are same that is on the 8540/9540,depending on your dealer probaly if you only pay the difference between what come on it and the larger ones. I kept my others cause the other 7040 we have, the tires or going to need to be replaced pretty soon and having two spares around is going to be nice. You can really tell the difference when doing loader work, turning on loose soil and in the ride. Both front and back could go another 6in. wider then in picture if needed. The new tractor has 8x8 shuttle shift, loader,radio,2 remotes and with tires and everything came in at 39,500. Hope this helps...
Thanks Forman; I have looked at the 7040 several times. The price is 40,200 W/O radio and one rear remote. I am sure he would not trade tires, since he is a small dealer, and I imagine the tires and rims are high. He gave me a price on a 8560 for 44,300. I am going to drive the 7040 tomorrow. I have set in the 7040 running to check out the AC, but never drove it.
bubba the tires are the same hight except wider (I think).
11.2-24(standard size 9.5-24) they are just alittle bit taller but they are both 24's and yes I trust my salesman, when I talked to him about going to them he said it would be fine they are both 24's. The rims and tires were $800 gave me them at his cost, didnt make anything off them.Had to order them so I changed out myself, had to break the center apart and turn them around so would set wider.I have 100hrs on tractor and I havent had a problem so far,did have to take the plastic toolbox off, thats mounted on side of loader...
You would have noticed a in the 1st 5 feet if the ratio was off.
