I worked at a service station in 69-70. Owner ordered a 70 F100 I wish I had. No frills, rubber mat, bench seat, 3 on tree. I believe it had a 352 (not 351). Blue & white. It would squawk the tires in third.

Drove a 1969 like that... no options but V8... 360ci if I recall correctly.

I tend to go used for my work truck. It's going to be in the woods, on the farm and really used. Dents are common and I don't like that first dent in a new truck. I've done well buying used pickups from utility company auctions. Used to be they were bare bones, high mileage but well maintained. You could buy cheap and get some years out of it. Now they're like 60K miles and have some features... But I don't need another now. My 1999 F150 is bashed all to dickens but mechanically quite sound and I now only put 10K a year on it - if that. I'll be leaving it to my kids eventually.

I'm retired. I live quite frugally - always have. It's just my way of life. The Taco Wagon is a whole lot of fun. But it's not just that. It's that I have reached a point where I don't feel guilty when I enjoy what is left. I would wish that everybody will reach this point in their life.

Eek! My first car was a '62 Falcon with the 140 in it, couldn't get out of it's own way. I shudder to think how that F100 was with it!!
