Buying Advice New Tractor Delivery Hour Meter

A thousand apologies to all concerned.
When it finally arrived it had 1.6 hours on the clock.
I found that to be an acceptable amount of time.
What say you, Guys?

Anything over 1.55555999999900000000000001 hours is excessive.

I'd be concerned if a machine that tracked more digits to the right of the decimal point than the left... ;)

I have been so backed up with work that I avent had time to even lurk on here since I posted last.

When a machine is as late as these guys made it the work just keeps backing up.

So the day after it arrived I hit the ground running, so to speak, with it.

I'll say this for the tree huggers on our planet. I wish they'd just leave our
tractors alone. I can't believe how much fuel I am using with this new unit.

I'm further lead to believe that it's due to the Tier 4 emission controls placed
on it by our Fearless Leader in the White House and his band of thieves
infesting DC.

Like the Old Man said: Too old, too soon. Too smart, too late.

I almost wish I would've bought an older machine.

Don't get me wrong. It's all pretty, shiny and glistens in the sun but
the only one impressed with that is the banker that loaned me the money.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...It'll run circles around my old tractor which, BTW, I sold to my next door neighbor.
But that's another story.

What was your previous tractor? What sort of fuel burn per hour did it get, and what are you getting with the new LS?

In most cases, modern emissions controls don't hurt fuel economy, and many of them have actually led to improved FEL economy, and power.

I'm sure you realize that the EPA Tier IV standards were finalized in 2004....long before Obama, right?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but has Tier IV rolled out to tractors yet? I thought we were still at Tier III.

Nope, we're at Tier IV for any non-road diesels up to 75hp, and the 75hp+ standards kick in by 2014. The range from 25-75hp had a period of 2008 to 2013 to fully implement Tier IV.

Like said, you can not blame epa BS for high fuel use.

Every body should have nice clean air to breathe like the residents of Beijing China if they want it. It should be a crime to deny people the opportunity to enjoy fresh clean air.

Well, I'm sitting here waiting for a "New" 3320 ehydro cab tractor with FEL and MMM to be delivered,,, I paid CASH for it four weeks ago and the delivery has been promised for the last two weeks. Apparently JD is pretty crappy about parts (as noted in the dealers' reviews of manufacturers) getting to dealers. End of rant,,,

Back to the thread, I would expect my "New" tractor to have less than 5-10 hours on it. In this case, the dealer (AG Power) has included a four year 1000 hour service at my place in the deal so the first service is already taken care of. Just hope there onsite service is a helluva better than delivery!

Mine had barely 1 hour when I got it. Definitely brand new!

If it's injecting fuel into the exhaust, and igniting it to burn soot out of the DPF filter, one might figure it might use more fuel.

Great machine. Just wish it had more back end weight but that will come with a ballast box or box blade.

I'll never go back to shifting gears again.

Fuel usuage? Well, when you compare a 2 cylinder Yanmar (22hp at the PTO) to 3 cylinder (29.6hp at the PTO)
OK, I yield. It's gonna use more fuel.

I'll consider it the cost of the comfort and ease of newer equipment.

Hey, I even banged it up for the first time. Bent the driver's step on a trailer fender.
Forehead slap....Wasn't paying attention.

Loaned it out to my son for the first time yesterday. There was a GULP moment.
Watching her float away on a trailer destined to do someone else's work.

He's the one that'll take the torch from me anyway. It's time. Besides he's a licensed plumber.
He rents this stuff all the time from companies.

It's about time he uses his own equipment. It was in the back of my mind anyway when I bought
the root rake and third function valve kit on it.

I'll post some pix when it comes back in a day or so.

Thanx for letting me rant on, Guys!
I don't get online near enough anymore. Miss it sometimes.

Your way more trusting than me. I pay cash for my stuff as well, but not til it is in my hands.
They got your money, have they cashed the cheque yet ? Sometimes, if they didn,t already have your money, they might deliver the goods a little quicker, so they could get the cash. Out of curiosity, what happens IF they happen to close the doors, before you get your tractor. I,m thinking it might take forever to get your money back, IF ever.
Hope you get your new tractor soon.
