I'm a retired automotive engineer. Years ago I farmed in central Michigan. Mostly IH tractors, Super C, Super H, Super MTA, 966 with Turbo, and TD9 dozer. I did have an AC D-14 loader tractor. The only thing I have of interest these days is a JD 1 1/2 HP Hit-an-Miss that I plan to get running again some day! I joined here to see if someone has any plans or info on building a towable backhoe.

Welcome to the forum. Is you engine a model E. I have a 1 1/2hp Empire cream separator co. Engine. It is made by Alamo engine works out of Hillsdale Mi. Them old engines are easy and fun to work on.

Yes, it is a model E. I had it running when I was 16 yo, but that was 50 years ago. I think it had a magneto problem at the last. You know anything about a mag? How to test them?

What mag does it have. A webster or a bosch.
