New to flat face connectors - need help

Last year I got a Kubota MX6000 and a grapple from Everything Attachments. Kubota said the remote kit used 3/8” connectors so EA installed 3/8”. I didn’t get a chance to install the grapple until recently however cannot get the flat face connectors connected. I first released pressure from hydraulics but still cannot get the connectors to connect no matter how hard I push the male into female. Looking at the male connectors it seems they are different and that may explain it. On the tractor, the male has a raised ring where the EA hose has a groove. The EA female connector is smaller in size than the tractor connector. Do I just replace the EA ends?

Your EA grapple has flat face connectors, the tractor has Ag style connectors, they are not interchangeable.

You need to switch either the tractor or grapple over to a matching style. I would switch the tractor personally as I prefer flat face, especially if you plan on connecting them regularly.

Right after I posted started looking at this again, it looks like the dealer didn’t install flat face connectors after all. So do I just switch grapple end to ag style? Strike 2 for my dealer.

Yes, I requested flat face because i talked with others who preferred them.

How long ago did you purchase the tractor? f it was supposed to have flat face I would call them and tell them to change it or at least provide you with the couplers. I see you're in Ashburn, who was your dealer?

If you end up having to buy your own couplers I would suggest this company, have been using their couplers for years with no issues and much better prices.

I got it in Harrisonburg, the tractor is 2 1/2 hours away, now I question the size too. Really want to use the grapple next weekend so looking for quickest solution for now. i will check out that site, thanks!
Guessing changing the tractor ends I’ll have to deal with fluid leaking out while I change the ends or will that be minimal with pressure released?

It will be minimal, pretty much just whatever is in that little section of line once the pressure is released.

See if you can verify what the fitting on the tractor end is (npt, face seal, etc.). Usually the shipping from that site is pretty quick if you end up needing to get some. Just don't select USPS for shipping!

Alternatively, there are Flat Face to Pioneer AG hydraulic adapters available. Just make sure they are 3/8" adapters.
