Never buying new tires could be so complicated! i am looking for some r-1 type tires for my B2150 (12.4-16 and 6.0-12). It seems Goodyear and Bridgestone don't make many or any in these sizes.

I need something to maximize traction, and mostly work in dry conditions. Is there any flexibility on cross sectional area without changing rims? Any input on brands and model numbers that others have had success with would be appreciated.

Do I have to worry about the lead/lag issue or can I assume that the tires from my (used) tractor are the right size?

I haven't done any shopping for new tires, but my 1995 B7100 came with Goodyear tubeless tires all around (R1). I thought 6-12 was the size of the front ones. Now the B2710 came with Goodyear tubeless, 7-12, on the front, and Firestone tube type, 12.4-16, on the rear. You can do some research on Firestones at http://www.firestoneag.com. I don't know about the Goodyear and Bridgestone.

Thanks Bird. I wonder if I could go with the 7-12 on the front? I will check the Firestone website and see what I can come up with.

Apparently you already know to be careful about changing tire sizes (if you have a 4WD) to avoid changing the ratio of front to back. If not, Mark Chalkley posted a pretty full explanation that you can probably find in the archives on the old board that'll give you the details you need.
