Playing with angles for the roof pitch

Roof mostly done on the one side

If you look at the right side of the structure you can see the rim joists for the elevated part of the stand.

Hunt, your going to cause me problems. You have me thinking that a combo shooting station/blind is what I need at my 300 yard bench. Right now it is just hte bench and the son and I have been going to add a deck or concrete slab. Now you have me complicating matters.

HEHEHE... so sorry... well not really.

From above that shooting deck I can hunt this whole field. I can target both the 100 & 300 yard ranges, and in the opposite direction I have another 150 yards or so. Its been in my master plan all along. Having an unlimited supply of lumber really gets me in trouble sometimes!:D

So I'm running out of time before my family gets here for vacation, and I need shade out there so I installed a deluxe genuine Harbor Freight temporary roof till I can get the upstairs built and finish the roof proper like.

Coming along nicely. Will you be adding another board to your beams that support your roof so it's a lot stronger?

Explain what you mean please..
I have 2x6 rafters sitting on 2x10 notched in "rim joists" with only a 9 foot span either way and thats plenty strong. If I lived somewhere that might get a couple 3 feet of snow I may need more, but I don't get that here(I would move if I did). Most I've gotten at one time here is less than an inch.

A single beam is much more prone to failure over time. If it was mine, I would add another beam to the inside of the posts. It's cheap insurance and easy to do now. All it takes is one defect in one of those beams to cause failure.
