John Deere 1026R
Good evening!

This is my first post to his forum and from the the few threads I've read thus far I can tell there are a lot of very knowledgable people here willing to share and help others.

I just sent my John Deere X485 back to the dealer. He'll be delivering a 1026R with tiller, deck, snow blower, loader, and backhoe (just always wanted one!). I'll choose a cab before winter sets in and maybe a blade.

What I'm really having a hard time with is the material collection system. The X485 had a 3 bagger system. What I'd like for the new one is one with a hydraulic dump like the MCS 560, MCS 600, or something similar. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will these fit on the 1026R? Do you have one for sale or do you know where I can get an alternative?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

I use the MC519 cart with blower on my x749 and it works pretty well. If you have independent control of the 3ph and mower deck lift it seems you could rig this up with a hitch to fit your 1026R. Atleast it would be worth some research to determine if it would work for you. You should be able to add a cylinder to dump the cart too but I have found the cart holds enough that I can mow an acre and dump about three times. Dumping with the manual setup is easy enough that I am not going to bother with the extra hydraulics.

My older mower had the rear bag setup and I found that to be way more trouble than it was worth, constantly having to stop and dump the bags. The 19 bushel capacity of the MC519 cart extends the intervals quite a lot. I should add that most of the time I use a mulching setup and bag about twice a year after dethatching early spring and when picking up leaves in the fall.

I purchased the Proterozoic PV18 for my 2305. While I was unhappy with the deliver time, the unit itself is great. I built a 4x4 cradle for it to set on so I can back up with 3 point and hook up with zero effort. Once hooked up, I slide out the 4x4 and done. Only down side I have found is the release arm broke my turn signal the first use. My adjustment for swing was to loose

Hope this helps

Obviously your not considering the deere mcs. Don't its very underwhelming. I have too, one for the 2320 and 2305. PIA to remove and install, the dumping of bags is only dependant on the yard size.

Thanks so much for the input. After reading the posts I found out a neighbor not too far down the road has an MCS 519. His is on a 400 series but a least I could see how I might make that one work. He has fitted his with hydraulic lift.

I'm also going to look further at the Proterozoic as well.

I really appreciate your feedback and hope you don't mind if I come back to you with questions as I look into these options further.

Many Thanks!

Jim

I agree with the others that a cart system is better for capacity, but they really limit your maneuverability, in my opinion. I have used the 14 bushel MCS on my 2520 for quite a few years now and think it is a very good unit. Has plenty of suction and capacity under normal conditions is just fine. Mine is hooked up the the I-Match so mount and dismount is a breeze. Don't discount this unit until you consider your terrain and obstacles.

How did you mount it to your imatch? Pictures? Mine bolt up to the draw bar. Not a great mounting method.

I have a bracket for it. I hated the draw bar mount too because youalways had to take the I-Match off to use it.

This system is a real time saver if you change implements frequently. The Hopper Cart coming out will be a real back saver as you will no longer have to even touch the MCS. You can just drop or pick it from the 3-point. Also realize, these are engineered and patented products. They are OEM quality or better.

Ok, here again I'll show my lack of knowledge, please bear with me. Is there a new Hopper Cart coming out?

Thanks,

Jim

Hello Jim,

No problem on the question. My wording may have been a little misleading. The hopper cart I am referring to is something we are developing (not JD) intended to allow you to mount or dismount the 14 Bushel MCS Hopper right from the I-Match. It will also let you easily roll it around in your shop for storage. The picture attached is just the first prototype. The actual cart is smaller and more low profile, more suited for shipping. The final design will be ready this week with production models the week following.
