JD 325 w/Mc519 Bagger

I have a John Deere 325 with attached leaf bagger & new tires. Farm mgr. says all it needs is a tune up, new battery and hood replacement (cracked) but he doesn't use it so I'm looking to sell once it's been made serviceable again. I think it's definitely pre-2005, possibly late 1990's. Can I determine the year of manufacture from the serial number? Any recommendations where it should be hauled for repair? I'm in Barnesville, MD. Any idea of its approximate value? Thanks, all!
