New LS Sub-Compact

what a nice looking little tractor!

Little off topic but,

do you more LS experienced guys know what model they have that is comparable to the Kubota Grand L 5460? I was looking at the Yanmar YT359 as a comparison to the Kubota as well.

Dealer said that the SSQA attachment would be an option coming August or so according to LS.

Newbie question. The FEL bucket has pins to detach it. Are there other attachments that would connect to those pins? I see the Kubota BX has a small industry that makes non-SSQA attachments for it. Is this third-party support something I would have to give up if I am not buying the leading brands?

Probably so, as the Kubota BX market is much larger. BUT, the thing to ask is if the SSQA option is available soon, you need to ask is the SSQA adaptor going to be just a matter of unpinning your original bucket and pinning on the adaptor and getting a new SSQA bucket or converting your old bucket to SSQA. The bad news is that this is liable to be more money than it would have been to get SSQA to start with. Why in "heck" do you have to wait until August to get the tractor set up the way it should be from the get go. But I suppose it is what it is at this point. The point is you don't want "pin on" front implements to begin with in ANY brand. They are just an "embuggerance" (you can ask our Aussie friends what that word means if you did not clue in to it immediately.)

Anyone that says they enjoy using "pin on" attachments is less than forthcoming. SSQA is the way to go. It is a standard across all brands, and it is a good system and will make your life much easier and will open up a world of front attachments for you to consider for your needs.

SSQA may be the standard but not on sub compacts. I'm not aware of any sub compact that comes with SSQA. ( at least without an adapter) If LS is going to make this with SSQA, then that will be the first for a SCUT.

The new Kubota BX80 offers SSQA on the two loader models LA344S and the LA3340S. There is a discussion on the Kubota forum about the merits of the pin vs SSQA. I know these are new this year. I also understand the the limited lifting capacity of the MT125 would mean that many SSQA attachments would not be safe to use with it.

The MT125 has more lift capacity than the BX80. The MT125 has 886lbs at the pivot point compared to the BX80 739lbs (for the pin on loader). That drops to 613 with their SSQA. The same drop should put the LS at about 760 with SSQA when available.

Will the LS loader be the right size to accept and lock SSQA attachments? I thought that was the issue with SCUTS.

Where are you getting the 886lbs at pivot point number? LS states on the loader website and in the brochure I have from the dealer that the LL1100 has "Lift Capacity (@ Pivot Pin) (lbs.): 1,007".

I have contacted LS through their website asking about the availability of the SSQA attachment and what would be required to switch from the pin on bucket.

I have no idea what your looking at. The brochure on the website and the link to RCO tractor that you posted above both say " lift capacity @ pivot pin 886lbs. "
Even the first page of the LS site on the MT125 page list it as 886.
Breakout force is 1960, I see nothing that's 1007.

I found it, your link wasn't working at first. That may be the loaders limit but apparently not when attached to the MT125. I can only assume it's limited by the hydraulics.

Something else to contact LS about. All the other loaders match between the loader page and the short list of details on the LS products page. I will assume the lower number is the correct one for now.

Their smallest CUT (XJ2025) has a loader that takes standard SkS QA attachments. I'd be very surprised if they went to a different system for the MT125.

It looks like in the case of the BX80, the pins are on the outside of the loader arms. I guess that enables it to be wide enough.
