New L48 - any advice?

Just bought a new L48 which will be delivered on Saturday! We have a long list of projects to do ranging from land clearing to water line laying.

Anyone have any hints/tips/advice for using this machine? I've used several tractors before (MF1240 most recently) but never one as powerful or with a backhoe.

you should fill out your profile and this way, perhaps someone lives close to you and can help pretty quick. I also have a 48 with two hoe buckets,not much advise I can offer though. The topography is so radically different depending on where one lives.,that is why it can be important to fill in the profile.

I noticed you have 12” and 16” buckets. Did you pick those sizes for a specific purpose? I think your going to want a larger bucket like a 24”. L48 can easily handle it.

The 12" one I want for digging a bunch of trenches for water and power lines, and also a long trench for planting a holly hedge. The 16" one came with the tractor, and I don't have the experience yet to know whether I'll need a bigger one.

One thing I do know already is that I need a set of trash forks for picking up brush/stumps to move to the brush/burn pile.
