Thanks guys, so far I am really enjoying it.

It is amazing how easily it can shove trees over, it saves a lot of time compared to cutting them and then digging out the stumps later.

I do the exact same maneuver but never forget that it can turn bad real fast. Lots of weight, force, and leverage up high. :drink:
I'm sure you are well aware, but never hurts to have a reminder before it hurts.

Re: New L45 TLB, Grapples

I don't use my grapple that much anymore as my excavator has a hydraulic thumb, but a Grapple is a great clean up tool.
The TLB's can handle a heavy grapple.

Trees the size in you Photo are ok, but pushing bigger ones scare me, I use a long strong cable. I had one like the one in you picture spring back and hit my excavator while pushing it over, It hit the boom first luckily then bounced off an hit cab, but did very little damage. Had to change my underwear.

Yes, you must certainly use your better judgement while pushing over trees. Attempted to push one over in the summer and the roots were wrapped around a large rock, even with two tractors pushing it didn't seem to want to go, and went 90 degrees to the way I thought it was going to fall. Also had a top come off a dead elm and land on the canopy while pushing it over, that made me pucker up a bit, but no damage thankfully. So I may be more inclined to cut some trees from now on if they appear to be too risky to push down.

Wanted to get an excavator before buying a tractor, but also had a need for something with a loader, so considered a CTL, for the type of things I wanted to do it would require buying both and that was too much money all at once. That's when I decided a tractor with a backhoe would be the most practical for me, just wish I bought the L45 before the B2650, not that it was bad, just was asking too much out of it.

Still need to get the block heater installed, get a top and tilt kit or make one, make a brush guard, and shields for underneath to keep saplings and branches that the grapple misses from damaging anything. Looking at the Landpride BB3578, 78" will be a little wider than the rear wheels, not sure if it would be able to handle the 84" model. Perhaps somebody has some experience and can chime in, it would be appreciated greatly. There's also the models with hydraulic rippers, but not sure the extra cost can be justified for the amount I will use it, moving the rippers by hand isn't a huge deal for me.

My Little Max28 struggles a bit with the 2572 BB I bought for the L39. It's never been on the L39, as it was always easier to borrow the neighbors tractor, before I had the Max28. Moving rippers is no big deal, for occasional use. BB3578, 78" wii be perfect for L39/L45 weight machine.

I have a light weight 72" box blade I use with my L39. Handles it fine. Wish I had something like the BB3578. The extra weight would be nice.
