New L3400

Hi all, I was formerly on here as Redsmoke (dissatisfied JD 4300 owner). I just traded that nightmare for a Kubota L3400HST and I am a happy man. Only have 10 hrs. on it moving sand, box blading, and rototilling. No issues at all. I have all the equipment for it, although reading this forum has made me start thinking about a grapple.

Just curious. How smooth is the 3ph on your tractors?

It's not silky smooth, but I probably wouldn't have noticed anything wrong if I hadn't seen all the posts about the jerky 3-point. (That's not to say that the problem doesn't exist). From bottom to top, it goes up smooth. It hops a little when I raise it in increments, but I like it when I'm box blading because I have a better feel for where my blade is at. Does that make sense? Only have 10 hrs. on it and I am lovin it. The JD4300 I had was the tractor from ****, but most of them out there are good tractors. So, just because I like my tractor, I'm sure there some of the same that are nightmares. I hope anyone who is having problems is able to get them resolved.

Yes, I adjusted the 3-point lowering speed and it works just fine.

I would have to say the same thing. We got our 3400 this summer & still only have 30hrs on it, but I haven't felt like the 3PT hitch was overly jerky. I DID notice it being jerky recently with just a drawbar on it when I was moving a trailer but with any weight on it, it works fine.

Most people will not notice anything wrong with the jerky 3ph, in fact, it's great for getting dirt off a post hole digger. One of my problems with the jerky 3ph was trying to removing heavy objects out of a trailer with a boom pole. Bouncing the tractor around was one thing, but banging up my trailer was another... It was unsafe for anyone to try and steady the load on the boom pole as it swung wildly.

If you don't use a box blade much, you will not notice it either but I've put in a couple of roads on my property and you need to make fine adjustments with the box blade to do it right... before I got my valves replaced, I ended up using a friends tractor, early 90's? L2050DT... since it was much better then my brand new tractor.

For mixing up chemicals in my sprayer... I sure do miss the old valves.
